Why should I hire BuddyBoo? What makes you different than the rest?
BuddyBoo Stationery is unique in that I pride myself on positive customer service, unique
design, and ease of shopping. I understand invitations are only a small part of your life-changing
moment and don’t want it to take up a large part of your budget. I try to keep my costs
reasonable and something I would pay myself if I were in the market for an invitation or
stationery.
Most importantly, BuddyBoo gives a portion of all profits to autism charities. This is very
important to me and my business model.
How long will this take?
Wedding stationery can be a lengthy process and I recommend we talk as soon as you have your
date figured out. No, it won’t take a year to make your invitations, but it can take close to 6-7
weeks. Check out my timeline calculator I created and plug in your date to see how long a
normal process will take.
I’m late getting my invitations out. How fast can you work?
Wedding invitations done on crunch time are not recommended. If you’re really late getting to
this step of your wedding planning, let’s look at a simpler design that can be produced much
faster.
If I find something I really like somewhere else, can I show you that idea and have you
create it?
Of course! This is all about you!
If you had the chance to only have one bumper sticker on your car, what would it read?
I like to read bumper stickers. I don’t like to coat the backside of my car with them. However, I do
have one sticker in my back window that says, “Autism Awareness.” See why below.
What’s your background?
I graduated from a private college in Minnesota with a degree in communication. I have been in
marketing and graphic design positions since college (15+ years).
Why autism?
My oldest child has high-functioning autism. He is the most beautiful creature on the earth and
when we were told of this diagnosis I was scared, confused, broken-hearted, and felt very alone.
Very quickly a complete stranger called me (someone told her to help me) and let me just talk
and cry and ask questions. I will never forget what she did for me that night. She helped me
understand I had to see my son first and his autism second.
After that, I knew it was my life’s mission to help others through the journey they just entered
and let my tiny little part of the world know about autism. My mantra is knowledge is better than
fear. I encourage you to ask questions. I will be more than happy to talk with you about anything
autism.
How do I help BuddyBoo and tell all my friends they need to hire you?
Do it loud and do it often. Wink wink.
When you refer someone to BuddyBoo, that person will get a discount on their project (in the
range of 10% off total project). Plus, for doing me this wonderful service, there’s something in it
for you, too!
Who is BuddyBoo?
BuddyBoo Stationery offers a full line of wedding stationery – invitations, save-the-date cards,
programs, menu cards; baby announcements; graduation invitations; shower and party
invitations; and personalized stationery.
Where’d you come up with that name?
Buddy is my son’s nickname and Boo is my daughter’s nickname. Boo is a girlie-girl and loves to
look at all the ribbon and fancy paper and swirly lettering so she frequently gives the thumbs up
on your project.
Do you know how much postage costs?
As of May 11, 2009, rates went up. A regular envelope at regular weight is 44 cents. I highly
recommend you do research on USPS.com and find rates for your specific project. I cannot be
responsible for any postage issues that may occur.
Do you know how heavy my invitation is?
My recommendation is to take a complete wedding invitation to your local post office and talk
with someone live to get the postage amount. Keep in mind square envelopes cost more money
regardless of weight.
Where should I have my reception?
I have a listing of some reception sites in the state of Minnesota if you’d like to see it. Just ask. I
can’t be partial to any facility.
Where are some cool places for birthday parties?
Home! I am a supporter of coming up with creative parties at home. Those cost less anyway.
Can you do licensed characters in invitations?
Licensed equals copyrighted. I can create something in the same general theme as your favorite
character. I cannot use copyrighted artwork.
Can you tell me more about yourself?
I am happily married and have two beautiful children. I drive a wagon and refuse to be a
minivan mom. My favorite color is orange and I only watch one tv show. I have a massive
addiction to chocolate, love going to the lake on summer weekends, and enjoy getting dirt under
my nails out in the garden.
What do you like to do in your spare time?
I pretend to landscape, have two wonderful assistants in the vegetable garden, and spend a lot of
time dreaming about BuddyBoo and continuing its growth.
